✅ Strengthening the fight against VAT fraud

The 2025 finance law aims to enhance accounting transparency by imposing new obligations on businesses. Starting January 1, 2025, only cash register software certified by an accredited body (such as LNE or AFNOR) will be considered compliant.

Until now, many publishers could self-certify their compliance with the 2018 anti-fraud law. This practice will no longer be tolerated.

🔍 What does the law specifically state?

As of 2025, any club or establishment subject to VAT using a cash register software must prove the compliance of its cash register system by:

• a certificate issued by an accredited body (LNE or AFNOR),

• or a manufacturer's certificate of compliance, but only if it is officially recognized.

The goal is to ensure the immutability, security, retention, and archiving of sales data.

⚠️ What are the risks for non-compliant clubs?

The penalties are severe:

• 💸 7,500 € fine for each non-compliant software or system,

• ⏳ A 60-day deadline to achieve compliance,

• 🚨 An additional fine of 7,500 € may be applied if no action is taken.

Even if you are an associative club, a country club, or a padel/tennis club with a billing exemption, you are concerned if you use cash register software and are subject to VAT.
